2008 Fantasy Road Race League

RealRoadRacing.Com is pleased to announce the return of its Fantasy Real Road Race League for a sixth year in 2008. We hope that you will join us and have some fun both with the overall league and your friends.

This is your chance to manage your own team in the most demanding and popular disciplines of motor sport in the world. The FRRL will run over at present a planned 15 rounds starting with the Cookstown 100 at the end of April and finishing with the Gold Cup Meeting at Scarborough in September.

The Fantasy Road Race League will again be run entirely on the Internet, and once you sign up you will, You will have to make a team selection at the start of the season and then there will be three transfer windows in which you can choose to change your team.

There will be three lists of riders and you will be required to pick eight (8) riders, at least two from each list at the start of the season with a maximum budget of £1200k, and these selected riders will score points for your team providing they finish in the top eight (8) in the selected races at the meetings included in the league programme. You will then be able to change three (3) of your eight riders during each of the proposed transfer windows at present they will be after the North West, Skerries and Faugheen, but you must ensure you do not break the £1200k budget at any time. For those of you who took part previously you will have to register again and get a new registration number and be aware that the rider numbers and budgets have been modified in accordance with their performance in 2007.

With some of the feednback we have received from our players, one change we are making for 2008 is that between each Transfer Window (each set of four races), you will drop your worst rider score, so in reality although you choose eight riders, but only your top seven will count towards your score.

All the rounds of the League are rated, and the higher the meeting is rated, the more points on offer e.g. a rider winning at a Rating 1 meeting earns your team 15 points, whereas a win at a Rating 4 meeting earns your team only 8 points.
