2007 RealRoadRacing.Com Columnist - Ian Hutchinson

Ian Hutchinson only begun racing in 2001 but he has already risen to the top of the sport and his road race performances in 2006 made him one of the stars of the year. As soon as he won the Senior Manx Grand Prix Newcomers race in 2003, he was earmarked as one of the riders to watch and he’s now talked about as one of riders who can dominate the sport in the future.

Hutchy took his first International win in the second Supersport race at the 2006 North West 200 and went on to rack up podiums at both the TT and the UGP. The 26-year old also got his name in the record books at Dundrod when he set a new lap record of 130.829mph, making him the fastest pure road racer in the world.

Hailing from Bingley in Yorkshire, Ian was a good friend of the late, great David Jefferies who inspired him to make his real road-racing debut and he has also learnt a lot from John McGuinness. Hutchy also has a thriving short circuit career and he will spearhead HM Plant Honda’s British Supersport campaign in 2007, also being their number one rider for the three International road race meetings. Ian joins the RRR.Com team for the first time in 2007 and his columns will provide excellent insight into life as a factory rider.
