RealRoadRacing.Com Columnist - Ray Porter

28-year old Raymond Porter
rose to new heights in 2006 and he proved to be
Ireland’s number one rider at the International
meetings. Another rider to make his name at the
Manx Grand Prix (which he won in 2002), Raymond
actually claimed an International win, the 2005
600cc race at the North West 200, before he had
won a National race on the Irish roads but he put
this right last year with a series of top class
wins and podiums. It all came together when he moved
to the DMRR Honda team for whom he hopes to continue
with in 2007 and he was one rider who was able to
step up his game and compete with the International
stars, especially at Dundrod.
Raymond joined the RRR.Com in 2006
and his columns were very popular with his intelligent
thoughts and comments adding a new dimension to
the site. The Lifford rider was sadly seriously
injured in the crash at Killalane that claimed
the life of Darran Lindsay but he has pencilled
in the North West 200 as his comeback meeting.
With Raymond onboard once more as a columnist,
you’ll be the first to know how his recovery
is going and where his first race will be. |
